Barry Lia
Barry trained in biodynamic agriculture with Dr. Andrew Lorand at New College of California. Together with his wife Janet, he has been practicing biodynamic husbandry on their urban homestead for over 20 years, and they have led workshops and courses introducing biodynamics locally in many venues, including S&S Homestead Farm and Center for Sustainable Agriculture. Barry coordinates the Washington Biodynamic Contact List, works on local biodynamic farms, consults in biodynamic farming and gardening, and is a member of the Biodynamic Research Working Group. He also maintains a study of Goethe’s scientific methodology. Barry holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology and works as a clinical technologist at UW Medical Center. He is also Adjunct Faculty for the Holistic Landscape Design certificate program in Botanical Medicine at Bastyr University.
