About Sound Circle Center

The mission of Sound Circle Center for Arts and Anthroposophy is to train Waldorf teachers and provide education and support to Waldorf communities in the Pacific Northwest. We are committed to personal and social renewal through the study and practice of arts and anthroposophy.

Sound Circle offers a part-time Foundation Year in arts and anthroposophy. This Foundation Year is a prerequisite to our two-year part-time Teacher Training with concentrations either in grade school education or early childhood education. Sound Circle Teacher Training has graduated five teacher training classes so far, putting dozens of teachers into schools throughout the region. Our next class will graduate in June of 2013.

Sound Circle also offers Symposia courses for adults in arts and anthroposophy, parenting and healing arts throughout the year. Please see our list of programs for more information.

Waldorf Education: With almost 150 Waldorf Schools in North America and approximately 900 in 60 nations worldwide, Waldorf education may be the fastest-growing independent school movement in the world. There is a constant need for well- trained teachers in the Puget Sound region, which has nine Waldorf elementary schools and numerous kindergartens and preschools.

Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) was a teacher, scientist, and visionary whose work led to the founding of Waldorf Education, Biodynamic Agriculture, the Camphill Movement, the new art of Eurythmy, and much more.
